Neill Hartley
AWB Artistic Director
Neill Hartley is a professional actor, director and educator. As an actor, he has performed with many regional companies including the Arden Theatre, InterAct Theatre, Philadelphia Shakespeare, People’s Light and the Philadelphia Theater Co. He shared a Philadelphia Barrymore best ensemble award for Batboy, The Musical with 1812 Productions. He also tours with nine one-man shows. Neill was a national spokesperson on QVC for several years and has appeared in regional and national commercials. He works regularly in industrial and voice over projects, and had a recurring role in seasons 2, 3 and 4 of the Netflix series; House of Cards. As Artistic Director for Acting Without Boundaries, Neill has directed productions of The AWB Variety Hour, Pippin, You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown, Aladdin, The Sound Of Music, Grease, Annie, Some Enchanted Evening, Fiddler on the Roof, Oliver, Singin’ in the Rain, The Jungle Book, Working, Mary Poppins, Peter and the Star Catcher, Anything Goes, Meet Me in St Louis, The Contrast and Newsies. In addition to AWB, he has directed for University of the Arts, University of Pennsylvania, Arcadia University, LaSalle University, Luna Theater and New City Stage Company. Most recently he directed She Loves Me for Harriton Theater Company. Neill is an assistant professor of voice and speech at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and has acted as a speech/dialect coach for several professional theater productions. He holds an MFA in Acting from Temple University.
