Coming Up at AWB!

As I reflect on last year (2024), it was amazing celebrating 20 years of AWB bringing theatre opportunities to people of all ages with physical disabilities. It was an exciting year for us as we launched more programs like the Youth Acting Lab at Widener Memorial School, the Connects program and Page to Stage at Inglis. We also created two major video projects for our organization.

AWB worked with Big Picture Alliance (BPA) to produce a video titled Disable the Myths. Disable The Myths is a disability awareness and sensitivity training video, that features our own actors and is used as part of the AWB Melodies outreach program. The goal of the video is to educate people about disabilities, and we have heard positive feedback from students in elementary/middle/high schools, colleges and universities, and medical schools. I am proud to announce The Garden State Film Festival will be showcasing our work on Sunday, March 30th.  Our second video, a lookback documentary, is planned to be released in 2025.

We are looking forward to all that 2025 has in store. The actors of AWB Jr. are very busy working on their spring performance of The Fisherman and The Fluke that they will be performing on Sunday, April 6th at The Agnes Irwin School. Participants have helped write the play under the direction of Maria Ceferatti, AWB Jr. Artistic Director.

The AWB Sr. actors are busy working on Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat that will be performed on Sunday, September 27th at The Haverford School.

I believe this year will be amazing and I hope to see you at our events!

AWB relies on volunteers.

The first Sunday of every month volunteers assist our actors at workshops as they learn their lines and rehearse their parts. Our most dedicated volunteers support our actors throughout the year and are a part of the yearly performance. There are opportunities for people who want a creative outlet through set design, props and costume development. Great for early teens, adults and seniors!
